Meta billing guide

What is the Facebook ad credit code?

There is no universal code that gives every advertiser free Facebook or Instagram ads. Meta says legitimate ad credits come through its own periodic promotions or approved partners and are attached to a specific ad account or campaign.

Short answerTreat unsolicited “free ad credit” codes as unverified.

Check the credit inside the correct Meta ad account before changing a campaign or entering payment details. A screenshot, social post or third-party code list is not proof that a credit is valid.

How legitimate Meta ad credits work

Meta currently describes two forms of credit. An ad-account credit can cover eligible advertising costs across that account. A campaign-level credit is assigned to one or more campaigns. Both can have an expiry date and a remaining balance.

  1. Open Billing & payments or Payment settings in Meta Ads Manager.
  2. Confirm you are viewing the intended business and ad account.
  3. Check the credit balance, scope and expiry date.
  4. Confirm the default payment method that may be charged after the credit is used or expires.

How credits are normally received

Meta says credits may be delivered through an in-product promotion, an email from a Meta-controlled Facebook Mail domain, or a partnership with another company. That does not mean every message using Meta branding is genuine. Open Ads Manager directly instead of following an unexpected payment link.

If the payment failed or the ads stopped delivering

A failed payment is only one possible cause. Work through the account in this order:

  • Check Payment activity for a failed, pending or completed transaction.
  • Verify the payment details, expiry date, available funds and whether the method is accepted for the ad account’s country and currency.
  • Check the ad-account status, campaign dates, spending limit, budget, audience and review status.
  • Use Meta’s account support route for a disabled account or a transaction you do not recognise.

Do not repeatedly duplicate campaigns or replace cards before identifying the message shown in Billing & payments; that can make the account harder to diagnose.

How to match a charge to Meta

Meta says eligible ad transactions have a reference number that can be compared between Ads Manager, the receipt and a bank or card statement. On statements, Meta says the descriptor can begin with “FACEBK*” or “FACEBOOK INC.” followed by the transaction reference.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a universal Facebook ad credit code?

No. Meta describes ad credits as account or campaign credits received through its own promotions or approved partnerships. A code posted publicly is not a universal source of free advertising.

Where can I check a legitimate Meta ad credit?

Check Billing & payments or Payment settings in the correct ad account. Meta says this is where the remaining balance and expiry date are shown.

What happens when an ad credit runs out?

If advertising continues after the credit is exhausted or expires, eligible charges can move to another available account credit or the default payment method.

Can an expired Meta ad credit be reactivated?

Meta states that expired ad credits cannot be reactivated, even if part of the balance was unused.
